Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Hindi typing speed tests
How is WPM calculated in Hindi typing?
Net WPM = (Total Words Typed - Incorrect Words) / Time in Minutes. A "word" is defined as 5 characters (including spaces) in government exam scoring. Our test uses the same calculation method as SSC and UPSC exams.
What is a passing Hindi typing speed?
For most government typing exams, the minimum Hindi typing speed is 25-30 WPM. SSC Junior Grade Typist requires 25 WPM Hindi, while Junior Assistant requires 30 WPM Hindi. Accuracy must be at least 90%.
Can I retake the Hindi typing speed test?
Yes, you can retake the test as many times as you like. Each time you will get a new random passage. Regular testing helps track your improvement over time.
Is InScript keyboard required for this test?
Yes. Government typing exams require the InScript keyboard layout (BIS IS 16350). Our test automatically converts English keystrokes to Hindi InScript characters. No transliteration software is used.
How can I improve my Hindi typing speed?
Practice 15-30 minutes daily with structured lessons. Start with basic vowels and consonants, then progress to words and full passages. Our full Hindi typing course has 21 progressive lessons designed to take you from beginner to 30+ WPM.
